A Paw Above Policies

Vaccinations:

All dogs must be up to date on their rabies and distemper (DHPP) vaccinations. You must provide proof of these vaccinations at your first appointment (rabies tags are not acceptable proof).

Senior Pets:

As our pet’s age, the grooming process can become more difficult on them. To ensure their safety, new dogs over the age of 10 years, will be required to come in for a consultation appointment to determine if our staff is willing to book them for a full groom appointment. We will do our best to complete your senior dog’s groom quickly. Sometimes your senior pet may need frequent breaks to keep them comfortable. This creates a longer total groom time.

Matting:

Staff will not brush out excessive matting. If matting is determined to be too severe to brush out, the coat may have to be shaved.

Behavior:

Our first priority is keeping your dog happy and comfortable. If your dog is showing signs of aggression, stress or extreme fear, we may stop the grooming process and send your dog home.

Illnesses:

If your pet is showing signs of illness within 24 hours of your appointment, we ask that you notify us and keep your dog at home. Signs may include vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, coughing, sneezing, etc. When symptoms subside, we can reschedule your appointment.

Medical Issues:

It is extremely important to let your groomer know of any of your dog’s known medical conditions. This may include, but not limited to, seizures, heart conditions, joint issues, and food allergies. It is beneficial to us to know as much information as possible about your pet in order to give them the best care possible.

Kenneling:

For typical grooming, dogs will be kenneled for brief, intermittent periods to rest, wait for their pet parent once the groom has been completed, and while we complete quick services such as nail trims on other pets. If your pet is not kennel trained or is unsafe in a kennel, we need to know this prior to arranging your appointment. We cannot accommodate a pet not being able to be kenneled last minute. If your pet becomes destructive, unsafe or shows signs of extreme stress from being kenneled, you are responsible for picking up your pet immediately.

*We do not offer walking services, so please be sure your pet has relieved themselves before the start of their groom.

Late Pet Pick-up, Cancellations and No Shows:

Failure to retrieve your pet(s) within 60 minutes of the completion of the groom and we have attempted to contact you, you will incur late fees, unless previously agreed upon, with the groomer in advance at drop off. You must cancel and/or reschedule your appointment within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment. There will be a $30 fee, per dog, for less than 24 hour notice of a cancellation and no showing to your appointment, which has to be paid before booking your next appointment. You will be charged a cancellation fee of $30 and will have to reschedule your appointment if you are 10 or more minutes late to your appointment.

Payment:

Payment is due at the time of service. Acceptable forms of payment include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, contact-less payment such as Apple Pay, cash and check. There will be a $25 fee for all bounced checks.

Please contact us if you have any questions. We will do our best to get back to you with in 24 hours. If you have not heard back from us in that amount of time, please give us a call 607-319-5009. We look forward to hearing from you!
